Supporting students in EC1

Supporting students in EC1

“Living in the EC1 area in close proximity to the work we do would not have been possible without Mission Housing given the high cost of living in such a central location in London.”

Ministry on Old Street EC1 with Inspire Church continues to be exciting! A lot of our time is spent with local students. We look to support Christian students living out their faith in their universities, whilst also looking to give students who wouldn’t call themselves Christians opportunities to look into the Christian faith.

Being able to live in the area is vital for ministry. The mission house on Old Street gives us great proximity to nearby City University and so we're able to serve them by having students round to the flat on a weekly basis both in groups and individually for meals and Bible studies. We can also easily serve the University Christian Union.

As well as the student ministry we’re also excited to be able to get more and more involved in the local community. One big way we’ve done this is through Inspire Football - providing free football coaching for 5-11 year olds based on and around the local estates. Through this we’ve been able to build relationships with the children and their parents, and have had the joy of seeing some of them come along to church with us!

Living in the EC1 area in close proximity to the work we do would not have been possible without Mission Housing given the high cost of living in such a central location in London. (MA’s unique solution for them.)

It is a real privilege to be able to live locally in Old Street which, along with others in our church community, will allow us more and more engagement with the local community through different means in the future!
