My name is Becky and for the past 28 years I’ve been working with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and other church organisations. I write worship songs and children’s songs for schools, I lead worship and I record songs and instrumental music in my home studio.

A couple of years ago my living situation changed – my housemate had to move away so this left me wondering where I was going to live. I’d lived in West Sussex for 11 years at this point and didn’t want to leave my church and friends in the area, but was faced with the reality that I couldn’t afford to rent by myself or buy by myself. I’d trusted God to provide many things over the years but this felt quite overwhelming.

I was put in touch with Mission Housing and when I called them I was told that they had just had a meeting where they looked at the possibility of helping people outside of London. Looking back I see God’s incredible timing in it all. I went through the application process, set about raising funds and loans for my purchase, and was absolutely amazed by the generosity of friends and family. It wasn’t just about the money – the whole process was about people saying that they were standing with me and wanting to be part of what God was doing. I felt so upheld and supported by everyone – including all the staff at Mission Housing, who were an incredible encouragement.

Finding my home took a long time – I lost count of the number of properties I went to visit! Everyone kept encouraging me to keep looking and that God had the perfect place for me. I needed somewhere that would not only be a suitable home for me but also had a room that I could use as a recording studio. I finally found a lovely 2 bed terraced house just 5 minutes away from where I was living. My offer was accepted and I moved in a few months later!

I’ve lived in my new home for 8 months now and there isn’t a day that goes by without me saying, “Wow!...thank you, God!”. Everyone who has visited me here says, “this home is so perfect for you and it’s so YOU!” I recently recorded in my new home studio for the first time and the space worked really well and I’m really thrilled with the finished piece. I’m excited about what I’ll be able to create in this studio in the future. God is so faithful and so good.
