Who we are

About Mission Housing

At Mission Housing, our focus is supporting key Christian workers to fulfil their mission in areas of England and Wales that have unmet economic, social and spiritual needs; particularly areas where the need is greater, and resources are few.

We help individuals, couples, families, churches, and organisations by offering a range of housing solutions to enable our associates to live in the areas they are ministering to, as this has a huge impact on their relationships with those they support.

However, the current housing market, throughout England and Wales, poses a significant challenge to the majority. The reality of soaring property prices in these areas has created a substantial barrier, particularly for key Christian workers striving to secure a place to call home.

Mission Housing is dedicated to supporting key Christian workers in England and Wales by providing affordable housing solutions - primarily through shared ownership and the occasional tenancies. Through the generosity of supporters, we help bridge the gap between high property prices and the vital work being done in these communities.

What We Do

There are three main ways that we help our Christian key workers. Our primary approach is through shared ownership, where the applicant -along with lenders- purchases a property. Our goal is to then support our shared owners as they gradually increase their ownership to 100%, by staircasing or buying out lenders. Read more about Shared Ownership, here.

Secondly, we can help churches with 2nd Charges. More information about 2nd Charges is coming soon!

Lastly, we may be able to help Christian key workers with affordable tenancies. We own and manage a very limited number of properties across London, all rented to key Christian workers at below-market rates for a long-term basis. Since most of our tenants are long-term, vacancies are rare. We post about any vacancies on our social media, so please look there first.

Stories

Please take a moment to read the stories of our associates and lenders, sharing their journeys with Mission Housing and their deep gratitude for being able to continue their mission work in their local community.

Last year we enabled three separate church planters to move into the heart of the estate they are seeking to serve and a family to buy where they were already living which helped them to continue their missional work.

We are eternally grateful for the support that Mission Housing have given us… we would not have been able to stay in London and continue our work without them. Words cannot express how thankful we are.
