Anne
FUNDING OPPORTUNITY - CAMBRIDGE
Anne needs to move closer to her work to create a hub for community.
Anne has been involved in ministry since her early teens in various ways – from teaching Sunday school to her current role serving as a youth leader and a deacon in her current church.
Anne served, with BMS World Mission, for 17 years before returning to the UK in 2021. Her mission is now carrying on through Hope into Action UK, as a valuable part of the Cambridge team.
Having experienced the beauty and challenges of life in a communal culture, Anne is keen to use her home to explore ways to create a hub for fellowship and community. That isn’t possible at the moment as she currently lives in a cold studio in a rural and isolated position. Cambridge is second only to London as the most expensive UK city for rent and third when it comes to house prices.
A working life spent in ministry hasn’t giving Anne the opportunity to save for a deposit or earn enough to qualify for a mortgage of the size needed.
Anne is committed to serving God in Cambridge and needs to find a permanent home. She loves living among the people she serves and wants a home that can be a base for ministry and hospitality. A home suitable for her requirements will cost in the region of £300,000 – which is more than she can afford. That’s why she is working in partnership with Mission Housing – a Christian charity that enables key Christian workers to afford accommodation.
“To continue in this work, being locally housed is a vital component for her - as she seeks to build community and make a home for the future.” - Matt Morton
