How can I help?

Mission Housing connects people who need help with accommodation with those who are able to help. There are several ways you could enable mission. 

Provide a loan

A loan made to Mission Housing is an opportunity for you to invest in mission work. Loans are typically between £5,000 and £250,000 for a minimum of five years – with an option to renew or be repaid at the end of the loan term.

There are two types of loans:

  • Your capital is backed by equity in the property. At the end of the loan term, you have the prospect of a capital gain linked to the increase in the value of the property. However, if the value of the property falls, you could receive less back than you put in. 

  • You can choose interest-free or with interest typically between 0.5–2%. At the end of the loan term, you’ll receive back your original capital investment.

    Loans can enable a key Christian worker to purchase their own home through our shared ownership scheme. Or it can enable Mission Housing to purchase a property that we can then rent to a key Christian worker, at an affordable rent.

Rent your property

If you have a property that could be used to provide key Christian workers with affordable housing, we would be delighted to manage the property on your behalf. We recommend that the rental level is affordable – and certainly at least 20% lower than market-rate rent. 

Make a donation

By making a single, or regular, donation to Mission Housing you can enable us to continue to provide affordable accommodation to key Christian workers. 

    • A donation of £20 a month, could enable us to provide information and guidance to a key Christian worker who is struggling to find affordable accommodation in London.

    • A donation of £75 a month, could enable us to help a key Christian worker to meet a shortfall they have to meet their monthly rental payments for a short period of time.

    • A donation of £1,000, could be used to provide a key Christian worker with a tenancy deposit loan. And when they repay their loan, it will enable us to help another, then another, and then another!

    • A donation of £5,000, could be used to cover the costs associated with a shared ownership purchase – which enables us to keep costs down to shared owners.

Would you like to leave a legacy that will enable future generations to hear and experience the Good News of Jesus? If so, would you consider leaving a financial gift or property to Mission Housing in your will?

I have been an investor in Mission Housing since 2006, and I also make an annual donation. I will be investing more subject to the resources becoming available. I see my charitable giving as a social investment, and I am impressed by the impact that Christian workers have on their communities in London. Many of them can only be there thanks to the work of Mission Housing, and I am pleased to be able to take a part in this.
